Resident Council

This committee represents and act as a voice for those we serve.  Their input and feedback help to shape decisions that are made regarding all aspects of operations at Spruce Lodge and help when defining quality improvement projects and strategic direction for the home.  Meetings are held at a minimum of 6 times annually in our chapel.  Upon invitation, staff representatives attend to provide information and updates or to respond to questions raised by council members. Minutes are posted on the Council Communication board located at the front entrance.

Food Committee

Food committee meetings are held throughout the year prior to the Resident Council meeting.  These meetings are led by the Nutrition Service Manager. People take great pleasure in the dining experience and for many it is daily highlight.  These meetings provide the opportunity for residents to provide feedback around food service, dining room cleanliness and menu planning. Resident suggestions and ideas help to shape the current menu as well as special events involving food such as a theme Chinese Takeout meal or a summer picnic-styled meal.
